# Foxy and Maude Kattungar!

Maude och fox har fått fyra vackra kattungar för två veckor sedan. De är alla oriental och de mår bra. alla har underbara färger - biggles - har stulit mitt hjärta! Förhoppningsvis så kommer dessa inte att se ut som grodor utan jag tror till och med att en del av dem ser väldigt lovande ut!

**En fråga...**  
Hur fungerar det med apricos och caramel i Sverak? Färgen är ju inte godkänd där som i t.ex. WCF.

Vad blir kattungarna reggade som i stamtavlan? Lila eller lilabaserad caramel?

Vilka jättesöta ungar! Jag har en avkomma av Foxy (min stora Morrison) och jag verkligen älskar honom och hans temperament, färg - allt. Gamla IDP har numer blivit medlemmar i WCF [http://www.wcf-online.de/en/index.html](http://www.wcf-online.de/en/index.html) ett stort förbund som finns över hela världen och är anslutet till WCC.

Du kan avla på caramel/apricot inom Sverak med avelsgodkännande på katten först. Detsamma gäller alla avkommor med dm i stamtavlan. Avelsgodkännande = Excellentbedömning i vuxen klass.

Tack så mycket för alla trevlig kommentarer! Min första kull att ser inte ut som grodor från den har linje!

#17 ja, det är rätt - Lumai (Maudes mor) är registerad med Sverak och hon är caramel. Jag kan inte vinn någonting från en utställning, men hon kan har kattunger. Alla att har caramel/apricot i stamtavla (inklusive av Foxy) har en RX stamtavla. Jag vet inte för hur många generationer? För de att är inte caramel/apricot, en RX stamtavla mena ingenting speciellt, bara att de behöver "excellent" från en utställning innan de har kattungar.

Kanske lilla Biggles är apricot men jag måste vänta lite och se hur honoms färg se ut senare och samma med Athos. Jag ska vänte lita och kanske jag ska hålla Kafka för min själv!

#11 Trevlig att hora från en mini Foxy ägare eller slav! Foxy har en underbar temperament - han ar som en "floppy doll"! Alla av hans kattanger att jag föder har samma temperament. De är inte samma som alla andra kattungar jag har fött upp från annan katter.

(I really hope this makes sense!)

I forgot to say that the caramels are registered as the colour they are based on and then caramel e.g. Lumai = lilac based caramel.

#21 Ja, Morrison är verkligen speciell! Och grejen är att jag inte vet om rasen ska vara så, eller om han är annorlunda, för min andra oriental är mer "kattig" än Morrison. Och båda har ju sin charm, men jag har tänkt att om jag köper en tredje katt, så ska det bli en med Morrisons temperament (fast just nu pendlar jag mellan en till katt eller en hund istället, så beslutet kommer att dröja).

Och "mini-Foxy" skulle jag nog inte kalla honom, han är 5.5 kg nu och en riktig stadig bit (1 år nu!)! Jag tror inte han är färdigväxt ännu, för han har så kraftiga ben och tassar, det känns som att han kommer bli ännu större.

And also, dilute modifier-gene is not available on cats that are born 'only' ordinary diluted. (Due to DNA-tests)

A blue/lilac/cream cat is just blue/lilac/cream and cannot carry the dilute modifier gene, and therefore "destroy" for other breeders that doesn't want caramel or apricot to occur in their lines. That cat is just it's colour and doesn't carry the dm-gene further on.

It'll get a RX-pedigree until no visible dm cat exists in the pedigree (approximatly 4-5 generations depending)

Phew, probably my english is a bit rusty but still, I think I managed to explain rather nicely?

#28 Yes that is right and your english was great! - however, there have been some clear cases where a diluted cat has carried the dilute modifier gene contrary to the idea that the presence of it changes blue, lilac and fawn into caramel and cream to apricot. i.e. a blue cat, from a caramel mum has produced a caramel kitten. There is one example of it here and I have seen others also:

Maude is blue from Lumai caramel and little Athos is certainly looking a different colour to the two lilac girls.  Perhaps the presence of DM doesn't always modify the dilute colours.

I have an answer to that too ;)  
The dilute modifier-gene doesn't work like the regular dilute-gene, it needs only one dm-gene to penetrate for the offspring to be dm.  
Like if you mate a blue cat(no dm) to a black cat.  
It's the black cat that carries dilute modifier-gene (and for it to penetrate it has to carry dilute too of course). The blue cat gives the dilute, and the dilute modifier only "modifies" some of the offspring coloring, not necessarily all of them. So you'll only need one dm-gene, but it's a incomplete recessive gene, that's the reason you'll only need one individual carrying the dm (or a dm-cat) for it to penetrate.

Thank you! Nice to hear - I am so pleased with this litter - It is so nice to have these kittens from the tabby lines in England - even though the type of Lumai (mormor) is like a frog, I think I am really starting to get somewhere with this line now. I just need a bigger house now!
